It was the sound of Heaven touching earth that for all eternity changed the relationship between Creator and creation. We that believe and trust our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ are forever redeemed because our Heavenly Father loved us so much that He gave His best Gift.
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
So on this special occasion let’s remember to always give our appreciation and gratitude to the One who deserves all of our praise and thanksgiving.
Father, thank You for the precious Gift of Your only begotten Son. Thank You for loving us so much that You would give us the best Gift that could ever be given. Our lives are forever changed because of the love You have for us and this Gift You have given us.
We have been redeemed because You are love and this great love that could only come from You made a way for us when there was no way. We have been set free from a bondage we could not break. We have been brought into a family where You call us Your children and we call you Father.
Thank You Father for a love that is so big that it covers the whole world. For even those who choose to reject Your invitation into the family still have been given the opportunity to receive this Gift.
Father, thank You for the way Your unconditional love teaches us to love unconditionally. For even when we are faced with rejection, betrayal and disappointments from those we hope will love us, we are still able to love them because You are our Father and it is Your love that flows to us and is able to flow out of us.
Thank You for the way Your gift of forgiveness teaches us to forgive. For You did not demand us to earn Your forgiveness, but You gave it to us freely. And You did not even wait for us to ask for Your forgiveness. You gave it to us in advance knowing we are a people with many failures and we would be hopelessly lost without Your forgiveness.
Father, thank You for how Your giving us Your best Gift teaches us to give to one another and to give back to You. It is Your example that teaches us the joy of giving. It is Your example that teaches us to experience love through the act of giving.
So, on this occasion we are not only thankful for Jesus who was born in a manger, but we are also thankful for Jesus who died on a cross, rose again with Your Heavenly power, and now sits at Your right hand.
Though there is much debate on when the exact day was for Jesus to be born into this world, we choose this occasion to keep that day in remembrance. So Father on this special day and every other day of the year may we be forever be Thankful For The Best Gift.
